THE PROPOSAL
There once was a dashing hero (Corey) who came from a far-away-land (St. George) to visit his beautiful love (Elizabeth) for an annual festive celebration (New Year's Eve).
After the eve of the celebration had ended, the hero and the fair damsel were forced by evils, out of their control, to be separated (Elizabeth had to go to work and Corey had to go back home before another stupid snow storm).
The moment of the hero's departure came. The good looking couple embraced and weeping, gave each other their goodbye kisses (Corey and Elizabeth high-fived and he said, "See ya little buddy").
The beautiful damsel was then forced to put away her beautiful dresses and go work in the lowly kitchens as a scullery maid (Elizabeth changed into her neon green work clothes and went to make wraps at the local health food store).
While the fair maiden was dutifully scrubbing away and singing with friendly little mice (?) a small carrier pigeon brought her a message from her her one true love (Corey texted). Her prince would fight off the dragons (the impending snow storm) and wait to meet her at midnight and their love could commence (Corey would stay in town till Elizabeth was off work and they would grab something to eat).
The fair princess had to travel many leagues to meet her prince (Provo traffic). He was waiting at the top of the highest tower (Elizabeth's apartment is 3 stories up).
As the princess climbed the forbidden staircase (stairs + snow +cold = death) she followed a suspicious little trail of paper hearts (Elizabeth could not figure out why there was little paper hearts on all her stairs and she thought how cute and thoughtful her roommates boyfriend was). The princess dreamed in her own heart that they were for her but dared not hope aloud. The princess followed the well laid out trail to her room where the the hot prince was waiting on bended knee surrounded by a bed of foliage (he was smiling from ear to ear, on one knee and holding a flower). The prince swept the maiden off her feet and whispered sweet nothings in her ear until she was deliriously drunk with love and agreed to marry him (this part is all true).
(heartfelt exclamation of joy!) It's so sweet. The romantic in me (is there any other part of me?) is completly swept away.
